Welcome Rabbi Daniel Stein beginning August 1, 2010
Rabbi Daniel Stein was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, June 2010.
Daniel has served as the Legacy Heritage Foundation Rabbinic Fellow at Congregation Shomrei Torah in Tallahassee, Florida and was Assistant Rabbi at Temple Sinai in Middletown, New York.
While at JTS, Daniel was awarded prizes in theology and Jewish thought. Daniel is also an accomplished musician. He holds a degree in music history from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and has performed professionally as a multi-instrumentalist in a wide variety of settings.
In 2008, as a member of the Choir of the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem, he performed at the invitation of Shimon Peres for an audience that included Mikhail Gorbachev and Tony Blair. He continues to perform regularly as part of Rooftops, a bluegrass-folk band based in New York City.
Daniel is married to Dena Wachtel Stein, who recently obtained Master degrees in Jewish Communal Service and Religous Education at Hebrew Union College.

Cantor Robert Weiner (still under development)
Cantor Weiner has been BAS Cantor since taking over for Cantor Morris Seigel in the 80's. We are currently writing a biography of Cantor Weiner for BAS and it will be posted here in the next few weeks.

Dr. Robert I. Weiner has been Professor at the Thomas Roy and Lura Forrest Jones - Department of History at Lafayette College for over 40 years.
Ph.D., Rutgers University.
